My Luminaries released their debut single ‘Jumping The Great White’ late last night which conquered Zane Lowe’s Fresh Meat competition and which also a regular on both Virgin and XFM... veteran of the air waves Steve Lamacq has even lavished praise on the band declaring My Lums ' his favourite new band'. It seems no surprise then that after extensive touring and handful of supports with Badly Drawn Boy, Radio 4 and The Infadels, the band are quickly being touted as promising prospect for 2007.
Now, the Reading outfit return with their brilliant second single ‘The Ousider Steps Inside' which hopes to follow in the foot steps of the now collectible debut, this 7” also features ‘My Idiot Fix’ on the B-Side.
One reviewer described the band; ‘the anthemic moroseness of Radiohead, blended with The Libertines' ragged urchin spirit and a dash of Arcade Fire quirkiness. The results are powerful and uplifting, but also, crucially, original and a little different to anything else out there at the moment’
We'll let you make your own mind up but we're confident your like it.
The single which is already receiving spins again by Zane 'The Zipper, Lowe will hit the streets mid April.
